The Future Looks Different. Are You Ready?

Adapting to change is often hard for us as humans – even harder after the events of the past year – but change is the thing that surrounds us daily at work. Not only is it hard to keep up and stay motivated, there is also so much changing at once that it can be hard to understand what to focus on. The only thing that is certain in the tech industry is that the pace of change will continue to accelerate.

In her 25+ year career through private financial firms into high tech companies like Red Hat, and today as Senior Director of Technical Program Management at GitHub, Jen has seen much change in the realm of testing. We have gone from manually testing deeply coupled software and hardware systems, to watching bots use ML & AI to test and fix errors made by humans, and this evolution continues. The pace can be frightening to folks having trouble keeping up with advancements in their career. So where does that leave us as an industry? How do you keep up with the pace without burning out?

In this session, you will learn the Jen’s top three tips to keep aligned to your industry and function, to keep on top of advancements, and suggestions on how to do this reasonably.  We’ll talk about how these tips align to early, mid and late career situations, and how they will help you achieve your long-term career goals.
