How We Should Be Using AI and Agile Methodologies For Testing And Quality Assurance? There are many advantages to test automation and to being agile – and to giving your human testers agile tools to assist with testing. My colleagues and I are often asked, “How should I be using AI and Agile in my business? Where can it be most impactful?”
Though there are several answers to that question, I’ve seen AI making significant strides in the field of testing and quality assurance (QA), revolutionising the way software is tested and ensuring higher levels of accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, Scrum is contributing towards reshaping the way team members interact, while transforming project management, software development and testing practices, at the same time. When Agile principles are fully adopted, the potential for innovation becomes even more compelling.
Here are some examples showcasing how we are leveraging Agile Methodologies in the QA department and how we bring change with use of Scrum. Accurate agile planning and reporting, improved requirement gathering & management, customised and refined agile ceremonies, dynamic pair programming are only some of the ways we are leveraging Agile methodologies in my combine. A successful and agile QA strategy accompanied by the use of AI can strike a balance that maximises efficiency, increases productivity and team collaboration, ensuring high-quality software products. In this presentation I will highlight the ways in which the convergence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Agile methodologies can bring change within QA and ultimately, within your organisation.

Spyros Katopodis is a Lead QA Manager and Certified Scrum Master (CSM) at Zebra Technologies with experience in Cloud Services and a keen interest in Global Business.
Spyros started his career in Quality Assurance with a start-up company in London that was focusing on Visual Search and AI Image Recognition technology (Computer Vision/Machine and Deep Learning). He holds an MPhil in Hybrid Cloud Service Security Certifications, an MEng in Computer Engineering and an MBA. His interest in business and in the global market combined with his passion for Quality Assurance led him to Zebra Technologies where he is leading the global Quality Assurance and Testing teams.
As a Scrum Master with 10 years of experience, Spyros has developed a mindset of team agility and engagement and, as a manager he has been committed to team empowerment and to providing clear direction and support to team members. As a proactive leader, he is highly motivated, flexible, always adapting to the constant changes of the market and the business.
